Internal Scholarships

The Dr. Vernier and Leonne Rondeau Prize in Biology was established in memory of the donor's grandparents, to recognize and reward academic excellence by graduating or graduated students in the Master of Science in Biology program at the University of Regina. Dr. Vernier and Leonne Rondeau moved to Rouleau, SK from Quebec in 1920, where Dr. Rondeau had established a dental practice. They lived in Rouleau for almost 40 years, raising their two sons, Malcolm and Paul, and instilling in them a deep and abiding love of the prairies and the importance of higher education. In 1959, the Rondeaus moved to Southey, SK, where they operated a dental practice until shortly before Dr. Rondeau's death in 1964. Mrs. Rondeau later resided at Echo Lake, SK. She passed away in 2007, in her 105th year.
