This award is in the form of travel funding to support the participation of a student in carrying out research focused on aspects pertinent to the Asia Pacific region, and/or to participate in language training courses and other course work relevant to Asia Pacific studies.

Eligibility

The award will be presented to a University of Regina graduate student who meets the following criteria:

- Fully-qualified graduate student in good standing in any degree program;
- Registered full-time during the semester the scholarship is awarded (minimum of 6 credit hours or as defined in the graduate calendar);
- Minimum cumulative grade average (CGA) of 80%;
- Research must be focused on the Asia Pacific region; however, consideration may be given to proposals that involve only a program of relevant course study.
- Students must be scheduled to travel before December 31st of the year the award is presented; and
- Please know receipts (boarding pass, food receipts, taxi/train,etc costs during time of travel), to demonstrate attendance at your research location, must be submitted to FGSR within one month of travel completion.

Application Information

In addition, students will need to upload the following:

- One or two page outline of the research or course work to be undertaken, how it relates to the student's degree program and a proposed schedule of activities;

- A proposed time for the travel and estimated costs; and

- UP TO DATE Transcripts, which include CURRENT SEMESTER REGISTRATION. University of Regina Unofficial Transcript titled 'Current Registration & List of Courses (Unofficial Transcript)' found in UR Self Service OR University of Regina Official Transcript from MyCreds. Please refer to the MyCreds | MesCertif learner FAQs for more information on fees and how to register.

IMPORTANT: If you are an entrance student with no grades yet at the U of R, in addition to the unofficial transcript found in UR Self Service or the official transcript from MyCreds, you MUST also provide a copy of your last institution transcript along with the grading key in order to be considered. You must combine these documents into one and upload them.
