The Graduate Advanced Training and Entrepreneurship (GATE) Centre aims to build and support a robust student culture of professional development, entrepreneurship, and innovation at the University of Regina through:

  • Career readiness and professional development for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars;
  • Partnership and network opportunities with industry, non-profit and community organizations;
  • Acceleration of student and faculty-driven research commercialization, research and development, and provide introductory and exploratory information to the entrepreneurship ecosystem;
  • Create events for you to meet likeminded individuals from across all faculties within the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, and across the Prairies!

Ideation and Design Thinking

Are you passionate about solving problems creatively? Want to learn how to transform your ideas into real-world solutions? Join us for an exciting Ideation & Design Thinking Workshop and discover the secrets behind successful innovation! This event welcomes innovators interested in non-profits, social enterprises, traditional businesses and startups. You do not need to have an idea, just an openness to problem solving!

Grad Career Launch

Grad Career Launch is designed to empower graduate students with the tools and opportunities they need for a successful career transition. The program includes support from the Centre of Experiential and Service Learning, the Beyond Grad School 24/7 online platform, the Centre for Continuing Education, and networking events.

Startup Bootcamp

Startup Bootcamp was delivered in three parts. Through this program U of R participants, which includes students, postdocs and faculty were immersed in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship and startups. Participants gained invaluable insights and connections while bridging the gap between academia and Saskatchewan's vibrant startup ecosystem.
