Income Tax Information for Students

The T2202 form reports tuition paid and enrolment duration in a qualifying educational program. However, it doesn't confirm eligibility for tax credits. Each student must assess their eligibility. Consult a tax professional or the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for guidance.

To print your T2202 Income Tax receipt simply:

  1. Log in to UR Self-Service with your student ID and PIN (use your birth date if you haven't changed your PIN).
  2. Navigate to "Student Services."
  3. Click on "Canadian Tax Forms."
  4. Select the T2202 form for the relevant year.
  5. Choose "Printable T2202 Form" and click "Submit."
  6. Review the notice and click "Continue."
  7. A two-page document will appear; print it via your local printer.

Form T4A - Statement of Pension, Retirement, Annuity, and Other Income

Students receiving scholarships and bursaries receive T4A slips from Financial Services. These are mailed by end of February each calendar yet. Consult the income tax guide or CRA website to determine if your scholarship/bursary income is taxable.

Note: If you received the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship, the Government of Saskatchewan issues T4As for it separately.

For student tax tips please visit the CRA website.
