On behalf of the University of Regina’s Board of Governors, I am pleased to invite you to attend a Pipe Ceremony with our new Board Chair, Cadmus Delorme to pray for a good journey as he begins his term.

Cadmus replaced our outgoing Chair, Dr. Marlene Smadu on July 1. He is an alumnus of the University of Regina, receiving a Bachelor of Administration through First Nations University of Canada and a graduate degree in Public Administration from the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. Cadmus most recently served as Chief of the Cowessess First Nation.

The Pipe Ceremony will be held:

Tuesday, July 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Outside on the Dr. Lloyd Barber Academic Green (inside at the ta-tawâw Student Centre if the weather does not cooperate)

* Please respect sacred ceremonies by not filming or recording while they are underway

* Feel free to bring a blanket or towel to sit on

* Attendees are asked to dress appropriately (no shorts or clothing with disrespectful words or phrases; the practice is for men to wear pants; women are encouraged to wear a skirt below the knee in length; Two-Spirit and/or gender-diverse individuals should wear clothing that respectfully reflects themselves and the nature of the ceremony)

We look forward to seeing everyone there.
