Research Interests
Dr. Ronald R. Martin is a Registered Doctoral Psychologist with a background in Clinical Psychology. His current research interests focus on health and wellness among teachers. He is also involved in health-related research pertaining to seniors (i.e., pain and falls among seniors with and without dementia). He has been awarded Tri-Council (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada; SSHRC) and provincial grants (Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation) to support his current program of research.

Team Member.
This large-scale research project involves the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions designed to prevent or slow down functional decline and to improve well being and quality of care among seniors who reside in long-term care. The interventions focus on nutritional improvements, falls prevention, better pain assessment and management, and enhancements in person-centered care.

Principal Investigator.
This grant will fund a theoretically-based, multidimensional, longitudinal intervention that is designed to: 1) help newly-employed teachers to better manage specific work-related stressors (i.e., problematic student behaviour, the demands associated with students with diverse needs, managing ethical/legal issues), and 2) enhance professional and personal wellness (i.e., through the ongoing use of an innovative online support network of peers and seasoned Education faculty, and an emphasis on health-promoting behaviours).
$162,845.00 with an additional $18,000.00 Research Time Stipend
