Convocation

University of Regina's 2025 Spring Convocation

Convocation is a significant milestone in an academic journey, marking the start of an exciting new chapter. It’s a time when graduates, faculty, family, and friends come together to celebrate accomplishments.

The convocation ceremony brings together the Chancellor, the University Senate, all graduates, and distinguished guests to honour the accomplishments of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as honorary degree recipients. The ceremony may also include the presentation of Deans' Medals, University Prizes, and the Governor General’s Silver and Gold Medals.

Graduates, learn more about what to expect on your big day by reviewing the convocation information for graduates.

  • There is no waitlist for tickets.
  • Additional guest tickets are subject to availability

Meeting Your Graduate after the Ceremony

Make plans with your graduate to meet at a spot away from the lobby and exit doors.

Ceremonial Chairs

The three ceremonial chairs shown here were a gift to the University of Regina from Dr. Terence R. McKague, Chancellor Emeritus, whose term as chancellor ran from 1989-1995. The chairs were acquired from Carmichael United Church, Dr. McKague's boyhood place of worship. Also, two podiums, designed and constructed by the University of Regina, complement on stage the three decoratively adorned chairs. This ceremonial furniture is incorporated into all official ceremonial functions.
