Student Employment Services reserves the right to refuse advertising any job orders which fall into the following categories:
 
  • Multi-level marketing or pyramid selling.
  • Positions to be paid by commission only.
  • Any positions where students are required to operate/own a franchise, purchase a "starter kit" or invest money up front.
  • Positions which discriminate with respect to: sex/gender, marital status, race/colour or age (except for any cases that may require legal minimum/maximum age).
  • Any position where there may be safety concerns or jobs of questionable moral standards.
  • In the job description posted to students we do not require that a direct contact name for a person in the company be given for application submission.  However, before any positions are posted the employer is required to provide a company name, contact name, address and phone number in order for the position to be posted.
  • Third party recruiters will be required to identify the client that the position is with. This information will be held in confidence and not released to candidates unless authorized by the third party recruiter. Should the third party recruiter be unable or unwilling to provide the name of the employer or client, the position will not be advertised through the SES office.  Student Employment Services reserves the right to verify information pertaining to the listing directly with the employer. No contact will be made directly with the employer without the third party recruiter's knowledge. Should the third party recruiter object to this procedure, the position will not be accepted for listing.
On-Campus Interviews

We are happy to help you set up locations and times for all of the U of R Co-op & Internship students and alumni candidates that you have chosen, free of charge!

For employers seeking to interview U of R student and alumni candidates our department will gladly provide you with on-campus interview rooms. On campus interview rooms can be booked weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Our office can provide several comfortable rooms, each with courtesy phone and internet access. Please note that during busy times of year we may have a limited number of interview rooms available. We encourage all employers to contact us as far in advance as possible to ensure that we are able to reserve space for you that will fit your schedule. We also ask that employers try to give us as much notice as possible on any occasions when you will no longer need any space that you have booked.

Recruitment Information Sessions 

Host Recruitment Sessions

If you would like to speak with students and alumni one on-one we can help you to plan, book and promote a special recruitment event for your company. There is a small adminstrative fee charged for this service.   Please contact student.employment@uregina.ca for more information about our services for employers.

Career Education hosts recruitment sessions for a wide variety of employers during our Fall and Winter terms.  We offer employers the ability to tailor specific recruitment needs based on program and major, but more importantly, on key skills essential for success in the workplace.  Discuss your goals with Career Education Staff and we will help to custom design special events which we will partner with you to promote to our student resources.  Common formats that sessions are hosted in include:

  • Information Sessions: For a minor set-up fee, present and distribute any materials you wish and if desired, we recommend that you open the floor for any questions that students may have. 
  • Employer Spotlights: For a minor set-up fee, have a booth during high traffic hours in high-traffic locations across campus to display information about your organization and personally speak with a variety of students in an informal setting.
  • In-Office Days: Career Education can provide a room in our office for the whole day (when space bookings allow). We promote this event to students encouraging them to come and discuss opportunities for future employment with you in more detail. These may be hosted as drop-in days or the Career Centre would be happy to facilitate the scheduling of meeting times with our students on your behalf.  Employers may consider discussing resumes, career options and goals that may fit with each student in this personal setting. 

We commonly encourage employers to consider hosting recruitment sessions that are open to students from all programs as a part of a long term investment. Many students may have experience in several subjects or may still be choosing their Major and experiences like these can help them to determine the career direction that they choose.

Career Education will promote all of these events for you on our multimedia screens across campus, our email lists, with posters or fliers in our office and on the new URegina Careers-Link database.

Multimedia Advertising Subscriptions

We have a set of big screen monitors located in high traffic areas across campus that are reserved strictly for recruitment related advertising. Flexible content in jpeg images or wmv video formats can be updated as often as you like over the course of the year. Contact student.employment@uregina.ca for our multi-media advertising packages.

A one year subscription provides your company with a minimum of five minutes of advertising time on our collection of big screen monitors located in high-traffic areas across campus. Here you are welcome to promote employment opportunities as well as recruitment events that are held on and off-campus.

Take advantage of this opportunity to make program announcements and provide information that can inform all members of the campus community! Your subscription time is flexible! With the purchase of any subscription you are welcome to make updates as often as you like, which we can also help you to facilitate.  For example, if you provide an ad template with your preference for font and size of text, then once you have defined the parameters of how you wish your template(s) to be used, our department can make updates for you at any time.

Five minutes of time on a digital display where we recommend slides or videos to be 20-40 seconds long gives you the option to have several different ads running at one time!  Also, specific versions can be posted in target areas: for example, one design could be exclusively used at locations such as the  tatawa Indigenous Student Centre with a different design at the Engineering Office and another at the Business Students' Society!  We have a list of special locations that can be used to focus on specific subjects.

Subscriptions can be purchased for either $350 per month, $1,000 per term or $2,500 per year, with no added fees for content updates.
