5 Days for the Homeless Charity Event

The Business Students Society will be participating in the “5 Days for the Homeless” campaign for the sixth year, from March 15-20. This is a national charity campaign taking place at 26 universities across Canada. Five students from the University of Regina will be living on campus homeless for 5 days to educate students about homelessness in Regina and to raise funds for Carmichael Outreach. The students will be collecting monetary donations, clothes, and non-perishable food donations.

Ashley Bernstein from the Faculty of Arts
Brett Kitchen from the Faculty of Business Administration
Jade Koch from the Faculty of Social Work
Shawn Wiskar from the Faculty of Arts
Daniella Zemlak from the Faculty of Arts
Co-chairs for 5 Days are Lynn Barber and Breanne Dmytriw, who have 25 BSS members on their organizing committee and an additional 55 volunteers who will help to ensure the week is safe and successful. This year the BSS has also partnered with the Campbell Business Club as their official Junior Donation Partner help them with their fundraising efforts.
A number of events are scheduled over the course of the week including:
Saturday, March 14 - Kick-Off Party from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room
Monday, March 16 - Improv Night at 8:00 pm at the Owl
Tuesday, March 17 - Pre-Paddy Party from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm in the BSS Lounge
Wednesday, March 18 - Karaoke Event at 8:00 pm at the Owl
Thursday, March 19 - Downtown Donation Day from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm on Scarth Street
Thursday, March 19 - Steak Night from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the Broken Rack
Friday, March 20 - Wrap Up. Time and location tba.
