Kenneth Levene
$4 Million Donation

Kenneth Levene, a renowned philanthropist and former Regina businessman, has made an indelible impact on the University of Regina and the broader community through his remarkable generosity and unwavering support for education.

A Transformative Donation

In May 2005, Kenneth Levene made an unprecedented donation of $4 million to the University of Regina's Building Dreams and Futures fundraising campaign. This contribution, the largest from an individual in the university's history, led to the naming of the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business. Levene's donation was dedicated to developing, advancing, and promoting the Faculty of Business Administration's graduate programs.

Honoring a Family Legacy

Levene's gift was a tribute to his parents, David and Margery Levene, and a reflection of the values and principles they imparted to him. The Levene family, known for operating Crescent Furniture, a cornerstone of Regina's business community for 55 years, has a rich history of leadership and community involvement. Kenneth Levene's donation serves as a testament to his gratitude for the opportunities provided by the city and province and the loyalty of their customers and friends.

Continued Support and New Initiatives

Kenneth Levene's philanthropy did not stop with his initial donation. In 2019, he contributed $100,000 to support Indigenous and distance students at the Levene Graduate School of Business.

This funding facilitated the launch of the Indigenous Pathway Program, designed to help Indigenous students pursue post-secondary and graduate-level education through tailored programming, networking opportunities, and scholarships.

Additionally, the donation funded the creation of the Kenneth Levene Streaming Studio. This state-of-the-art facility allows courses to be streamed to students remotely, enhancing accessibility for distance learners and broadening the reach of the Levene Graduate School programs.

Impact and Vision

Levene's vision for the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business is to create a catalyst for economic growth in Saskatchewan by fostering excellence in business education. His ongoing support has helped attract and retain outstanding students and professors, strengthen teaching and research, and promote economic development and entrepreneurship.

Kenneth Levene's dedication to giving back to the community and supporting education has left a lasting legacy. His contributions continue to enrich the lives of countless individuals and exemplify the profound impact of philanthropy on society. The University of Regina and the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business are proud to honor his name and carry forward his mission of excellence and opportunity in business education.
