Faculty of Nursing
Helping Health Care Heroes
Our students in the Faculty of Nursing go on to serve on the front lines of healthcare in our province, providing communities with high quality care founded in a strong skill set that prioritizes the wellbeing of patients and their families. Our university is rooted in the belief that we reach our greatest potential when we work together. This fall we’re raising much-needed funds in support of students in the Faculty of Nursing.
Set a student up for their practicum
A matter of significant concern to today’s Nursing students is the cost of uniforms and stethoscopes – crucial items needed to complete their practicums. The cost of these items can create a considerable financial burden — but for every $250 raised, you can support a future health care hero by eliminating these costs, making a real difference for students as they prepare to serve our communities.
“Having these tools supplied for nursing students like me would be a huge relief. Not having to pay for these items eases financial burden, especially when most of us are struggling with paying living expenses, books and tuition.”
—Tiffany Newby, Nursing student
Help students serve their home communities
For every $500 raised you can give a student in a remote community the opportunity to remain close to home while they complete their studies through the power of Emersive Learning – which involves virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) learning aides to engage with real-life healthcare scenarios in ways that would otherwise be inaccessible to anyone living outside of larger centres. Your support can mean the difference for students who want to stay – and serve – their remote or rural communities while completing their education.
Your support is key to making their goals a reality.
Your gift, regardless of size, will make a valuable and immediate difference to the lives of students in the Faculty of Nursing today.
