Labour Relations (MCert.)
The Master’s Certificate in Labour Relations provides labour relations professionals and those interested in labour relations with the skills and knowledge required to foster fair and supportive workplace environments. The Labour Relations certificate serves a distinct purpose as a standalone field of study, going beyond the general practice of Human Resource Management.

This certificate program requires students to complete two core courses: Labour Relations and Collective Bargaining, and Negotiations and Conflict Resolution. Students must choose one additional labour relations elective.

Applicants must meet the entrance requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.

This course examines the history of union development in Canada, and business reaction to this development. Current structures in the labour movement are assessed, as well as the impact of legislation on the nature of collective bargaining. The course focuses on the character and procedures of arbitration, fact-finding, mediation, and conciliation.
GBUS 873 Negotiations and Conflict Resolution
This course will introduce students to the theory and practice of negotiation and conflict resolution, including alternative dispute resolution.
