Globe Theatre
super-8 film, 3.5 minutes, 1997, 1999, 2003 (additional image 1)
The illusion of snow hovers for only a moment inside a snow globe. This film contrasts the false winter with the other side of Saskatchewan, the heat of summer. Using pixilation, dozens of snow globes intermix in this journey around Regina. I collected snow globes for over a year in preparation for this but was disappointed by the general look of the images. I should have spent some of that time investigating polarizing filters for the super-8 camera.
