Untutored I
super-8 film, 3.5 minutes, 1996, 1999, 2003
This is a study of the colour green, inspired by the words and images of Stan Brakhage. Journeying to a Saskatchewan farm, the film lingers on a beautiful deer left dead on the road and then explores the source of nutrition (life) springing from the fertile soil. A single day reveals a surprising range of weather, light and colour. I dedicated this film to John McCullough who was my friend and advisor at York University.
