Nuclear Theory
Dr. Gojko Vujanovic is an Assistant Professor in our department. He is a theoretical physicist whose research focuses on understanding nuclear interactions under extreme conditions. At very high temperatures, the fundamental particles of the nucleus – the quarks and gluons – form a new state of matter called the quark gluon plasma (QGP). The QGP existed in the early Universe and can be re-created in the laboratory using high-energy nuclear collisions. To describe QGP, a combination of theoretical calculations and numerical simulations is used; please visit Dr. Vujanovic's Research page for details.
