Position Profile
The Associate Vice-President (Indigenous Engagement) engages in strategic and transformational leadership to develop and advance a centralized Indigenous engagement strategy that addresses the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's (TRC) Report, including the Calls to Action relevant to post-secondary education.
The AVP (IE) collaborates broadly to expand professional development opportunities and supports across campus to ensure respectful and ethical incorporation of nation-specific Indigenous ways of knowing into teaching and research, appropriate and meaningfull Indigenizing and decolonizing pedagogies, curricula, policies, processes, and procedures; and works closely with the VP (Research) to establish and strengthen the University's relationships with urban, rural, and remote Indigenous communities with the aim to accountable and reciprocal research, enhancing Indigenous engagement in the research enterprise.
