Unit: Internet, Usage and Know How! Time Frame: 20

Course: E-BUSINESS 30 (grade 12)
Abstract
This unit enables students learn how to use the Internet
in safe and responsible manner. This unit includes an introduction to Internet
terms and usage, safety on the Net, and netiquette. This unit prepares
students to function on the Internet as professional business people.
Rationale
Before teaching students how to use the Internet for the
purpose of business, it important
to teach them how to be professional on the Internet, or at least what
is widely excepted as professional Internet usage. Also, students should
be aware of the safety and security concerns that are ever growing in cyberspace.
As educators it is our responsibility to make sure students have the resources
to protect themselves. An informed business person should have access to
the market and resources to help the business prosper. Search engine knowledge,
information for buying online, and e-mail are just some of the increasing
resources a business person can use to be a successful business person.
This unit not only, helps students become knowledgeable business person,
it also creates an informed consumer.
