Test for a Spin Around Turtle Park

HD Video, 105 seconds , colour, 2012

This is a black and white, hand processed test for a film I made in 2006 called "A Spin Around Turtle Park (after John Porter's Cinefuge)". My experimental film production class are observing this test run which was shot on the commons at the University of Regina. When I asked John Porter how he could stand spinning so much as I was almost sick after just two minutes, he told me that he can spin for much longer and never feel bad. The original of this is in negative and never shown on film and it shown here as a relic/test rather than a complete work, which is why I present it with what is basically a didactic commentary track rather than a constructed soundtrack.
