Hello.
As today is the first of April, a day known in some circles as April Fools Day, I took time away from my civic duty of inspecting my neighbour's gutter cleaning progress and suspended, temporarily, my report to the city inspector to avail myself of the newspaper comical strip page. In my favorite, the image in the panel depicts a man with a large nose wearing a chef's hat, suggesting that he is, in fact, a chef, standing outside of a kitchen door and saying to another man, whose hands are on his hips indicating his unhappiness, that he apologized but that he could not, as it were, stand the heat. The humour of course comes from the aphorism which suggests that one should not be in the kitchen if one cannot stand the heat. The irony that the supposed chef could not stand the heat himself had me chuckling for some time, I must tell you.
