Well team in the tradition of "the coach" I'm starting a game summary. It is an especially good time to start this tradition after a hard fought victory. At one point we were down 4-2, but we fought back with a run here a run there to trail 6-5. We put together a big inning and took the lead 9-6 in the sixth inning and added some insurance runs to lead 12-6 after the top of the seventh. Then with some "bend but don't break" defense we limited the Devils to 5 runs in the bottom of the seventh to win our first game of the season with one run to spare, 12-11.
I would like to commend one and all for an excellent performance. To say the TNT Sluggers do not have heart would be a big lie. Sarah was definitely one of the game stars filling in as a very capable back catcher and batting 2/4 (possibly 3/4 except for the brutally close out that could have been called safe in the seventh). The walking wounded (Lori and Crystal) gave that mythical 110% effort playing through injury (it's a tough job on first base). A much improved offensive effort as well producing a 4 run and 3 run two-out rallies in the last two innings.
Good effort all around. Let's get them on Friday!!!
Roster: Cory, Mark, Ted, Todd, Art, Sarah, Lori, Shaun, Jas, Crystal.
