I am an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Regina and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Saskatchewan. I am also the director of the University of Regina's Internet of Things (IoT) and Microgrid research labs. I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa in October 2013. From 2013 to 2015, I worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Product Development Manager of the "SecCharge" Project at the University of Ottawa. My research focuses on IoT systems, smart grid communication, and information systems, including big data analysis, system reliability and optimization, and cybersecurity. My journal article, "A Survey on Cross-layer Quality of Service Approaches in WSNs for Delay and Reliability Aware Applications," published in IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, won the 2017 Best Paper Award from the IEEE Communications Society's Technical Committee on Communications Systems Integration and Modeling. I am registered as a professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

I am currently looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students who are interested in pursuing research in virtual network embedding (VNE) in WSNs, data-centric security, blockchain-based access control and trust mechanisms, cloud and edge-computing-enabled cyber security, and modelling and analysis of cyber vulnerabilities and failure propagation in smart grid networks.

If you are interested, please email me your application.
