Abstract: Transition metal oxides show many exotic properties closely related to practical applications. I will introduce following case studies from early transition metal oxides demonstrating capability of various synchrotron techniques.
1) alpha-Fe2O3 nanocube: morphology and surface structure characterization with X-ray diffraction/scattering.
2) X-ray micro-diffraction study of buffer layer effect in alpha-Fe2O3 film growth3) Resonance photoemission study of incoherent spectral weight in the Fermi level of V2O3 thin film.
3) VO2 thin film fabrication through post-reduction of ALD grown VOx film.
