Midterm exam

Basic information

Rules

Material covered

The midterm covers everything from the beginning of the semester up to (and including) the lecture on Friday October 17. In other words: Chapters 12 and 13, plus cylindrical and spherical coordinates.

Problems will be somewhat similar to the homework, practice problems, and the practice exam.

Practice exam

Here is a practice midterm, which is longer than the real exam. Solutions are available on OWL, under Resources / Exam solutions.

For additional practice, here is an old midterm from a similar course. Ignore Problem 11, which is not covered on our midterm. Solutions will not be posted.

For yet more practice, look at the Review sections at the end of each chapter in the textbook. Here is what our midterm covers.

Conflict exam

The deadline to request a conflict exam is Wednesday October 15. Those who registered will receive additional information by email.

Review session

There will be a review session on Monday October 20, 5:30 - 7:30 PM, in room MC 108. There willl be a break in the middle; feel free to attend only one of the two hours.

Grades

The grades have been posted on OWL. The class median is 78.5%.
