Web Design for Business Time Frame: 20-25 hours
Course: E-BUSINESS 30 (grade 12)
Abstract
This unit enables students to become publishers, developing and authoring their own web pages for the business they are developing throughout the E-Business course. This unit includes an introduction to hypertext markup language (HTML), planning of the web site, creating the site, and placing the site on the World Wide Web. Students will begin to use HTML as well as a ‘cheater’ program such as Semantic Visual Page, Microsoft Front Page, or Netscape Composer.
Rationale
With web-based electronic business exploding after the turn of the century, it is important for young people (especially young entrepreneurs) to understand and be able to effectively use the many advantages of publishing on-line.

Students will acquire and be able to apply knowledge of File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and posting. Students will acquire knowledge of domain names, and be able to choose an appropriate domain name for their business. |
