Overview
Unit: Basic business Time Frame:20 Hours
Course: E-Business 30
Abstract
This unit provides an opportunity for the students to
be introduced to entrepreneurship. This unit will also provide a chance
for students to get to know the components of a small business. The unit
will prepare the students for the next step of the course, the business
plan.
Rationale
Entrepreneurship is growing more and more everyday. Students
need to realize that being your own boss is an option for them. The students
will be motivated throughout the unit in case studies and guest speakers,
who are actual entrepreneurs. As educators it is our responsibility to
show students all of the options that are available to them and how to
make them succeed. This unit will inform students about entrepreneurship
and get them ready to go through the steps of owning their own business.

Common Essential Learnings
This unit focuses on the following common essential learnings (CELs)

To allow students to work in groups of people as if they
were in an actual business setting. To allow students to be their own boss
and learn how to manage employees. (COM )

an entrepreneur is, and the benefits of becoming one
