Have the students go to the site www.geocities.com/Wallstreet/2924/strtest1.htm . This site describes the mistakes made when advertising a small business. Have them complete a worksheet dealing with the site. Next have the students make a newspaper advertisement that does not have any of the common mistakes that are outlined in the site. Combine all of the advertisements to make an actual flyer or newspaper. This could be done in groups. After the teacher could ask questions such as; Where should this be distributed, To what age groups?, Where in the city?, Who would be interested?.
