The footage is some colour hand processed shots of industrial sites in Regina. Much of it is time laps of the heavy oil upgrader in Regina. I felt that the haziness, non-activity, and surface damage created a curious dreamlike quality that invited contemplation, so I chose the soundtrack from a 1946 documentary Despotism (public domain from the Encyclopedia Britannical Film downloaded from Prellinger Archives at www.archives.org) to accompany it. It puts one in mind of the Stephen Harper government. VIDEO
