My Idea
16mm film, 2 minutes, 1987
This animated film was my portion of an undergrad project in which I was one of seven students creating films based upon the same set of random words, beginning with "I was lying". Due to my second bought of pneumonia during my tenure in film school , I chose to work at home with drawings, photographs and, for the first time, extensive photocopying to make the elements for this animated film. It follows the journey of The Depressed Man, a sketchy black and white figure which was originally a graffiti image I photographed off of a door in the film department.
