Out of Orbit: the Life and Times of Marshall McLuhan

Carl Bessai of Vancouver’s Raven West Films asked me to create a some 16mm animated imagery to charge up his documentary on media guru Marshall McLuhan. This was great fun. As we live half a country apart, I was left with tremendous freedom to create. Carl mailed me thick envelopes of photos and graphics but the rest was up to me. I am pleased that he liked and respected my work and included dozens of pieces of it his documentary. It won the Silver Spire at the San Francisco Film Festival. I still have one photo of McLuhan magnetted to my back door.
