Cappuccino

HD Video , 108 seconds, colour, 2012

This is really the follow up to a super-8 film I made called Cake in which I created a process film, that is to say, a film which uses simple cinematic techniques to condense time while clearly demonstrating how something is done. This is a common film student exercises which I'd never been assigned to do (but have on occasion assigned it to my own students). To create comedy, I have written narration for William to perform. The contradictions between image and sound, the use of a 10 years old as the voice of authority, and the repeated PANIC actions create satire.

Post script: this machine was the second such unit we owned and lasted many years, but finally wore out two months after shooting this video and has been replaced by a different brand. Watch for sequels.
