Around With The Crowd

HD Video , 73 seconds, colour, 2012

This was a test to see if I could create a puppet film using very very small puppets. I had hoped that using faces made of either match heads of paper hole punch holes, I could make a puppet performance which was uniquely filmic. However, my ability to construct movable arms (guided by thin wires) could not keep up with my ambition. These faces are on hole punches, mounted on tooth picks, set on a rotating stage to move in and out of focus in front of a reversed lens for macro effect. The soundtrack is edited together from the film "Dating Dos and Don'ts" from the Prelinger Archive in the archive.org site (public domain).
