Spanish Class Placement
Below is a link to an online assessment. It is for the use of current University of Regina students who intend to take a credit Spanish class during the current semester or the approaching semester. Its purpose is to determine the appropriate class placement for students who have a significant degree of prior knowledge of Spanish (an ability to comprehend and/or use more than just a few words). Their knowledge may be due to: Spanish-speaking family; time spent living in a Spanish-speaking country (for at least two months); any classes taken; self-study using any program; or any other experience leading to an ability to understand and/or use Spanish (oral or written) beyond a few words. (Note that knowledge of grammar terms is irrelevant.)
Please do not do the assessment in the following cases:
-if you have not been accepted yet as a student at the U of R
-if you want to take a non-credit, rather than a credit, Spanish class
-if you are not sure if you are going to take a class
-if your job or schedule of other classes would likely make you unable to take a Spanish class (a credit Spanish class is usually held four times per week).
If you are a current U of R student who has significant Spanish experience and who wishes to take a credit Spanish class, and who will be able to fit a class into your schedule, you may do the following online assessment. After doing the assessment, you will be contacted within a short time regarding your class placement.
