Central Testing Centre and Bookstore Renovation

As part of our ongoing commitment to student success, the University is embarking on the creation of a centralized examination facility. The space currently occupied by the University Bookstore is being renovated to house the new University of Regina Central Testing Centre and the Bookstore. During construction, Bookstore operations and sales are relocated to three locations (Please note: As of May 16, 2019, there are two locations. See below for details). Please visit this site to review communication about this project. Thank you for your patience as the University works to better accommodate our students.

Temporary Bookstore Locations

CW148 (College West - across the hall from the current Bookstore)
For print textbook online order pickups, textbook rental returns, Bookstore office, questions about textbooks, general assistance. Print textbook online order pickups may relocate down the hall during busy periods. Watch for signs!
Hours: 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

CW150 (College West - next to Extreme Pita)
For supplies, gifts, U of R gear, clothing, water bottles, gifts, textbook rental returns: (All Cougars and Rams merchandise may also be purchased at this location).

4 April 2019: Changes to Ordering Spring/Summer Textbooks Online

Getting ready to order textbooks for the Spring/Summer semester? Here’s what you need to know including some important changes and dates:

The Spring/Summer 2019 Booklist will be released by Noon on April 8, 2019.
All textbooks (print and digital) must be ordered online and picked up at CW148 (College West 148)
NEW: Books must be picked up within 5 days of receiving pickup confirmation e-mail.
NEW: After 5 days, orders that have not been picked up will be reversed.
NEW: Textbooks for short courses (3 weeks or less) will be non-returnable unless a proof of drop is provided.

Important dates to remember:

April 24-26: Textbook buyback from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (CW148)
April 29-30: All Bookstore locations closed for year-end inventory
May 6-7: Textbook buyback from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (CW148)

Please note that the students have been notified that as of March 4th, 2019, the Bookstore will begin returning the majority of unsold Winter 2019 textbook inventory to vendors. Students are encouraged to purchase their course materials prior to March 4th to ensure availability at https://www.uregina.ca/student/bookstore.

As of March 4th, 2019, the Bookstore will begin returning the majority of textbook inventory to vendors, which will include unsold textbooks used for the Winter 2019 term. Please consider purchasing the textbook, if required, prior to March 4th to ensure availability.

21 January 209: Bookstore Reminder

Work on the new Central Testing Centre and Bookstore renovation continue. Construction work is on schedule and planned to be completed by Fall 2019. I want to thank everyone for their patience and efforts as the University works to better accommodate our students.

Faculty are asked to remind students that all textbooks must be ordered online at https://www.uregina.ca/student/bookstore and picked up as soon as they receive notification, to help make room for new orders.

Online pickup locations and hours may change with the busy start to the winter semester. Please check the calendar on the Bookstore website for the latest updates.

During construction, Bookstore operations are provided at three temporary locations. These locations and hours are posted on the Bookstore website.

The University Bookstore is being renovated to house the new University of Regina Central Testing Centre and the Bookstore. The Bookstore has moved its operations to three temporary locations.

DURING RENOVATIONS, ALL PRINT AND DIGITAL TEXTBOOKS MUST BE ORDERED ONLINE

The Winter 2019 Booklist will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 11. To view the booklist and order your print and digital textbooks online, go to ebookstore@uregina.ca.

WHERE TO PICK UP ONLINE ORDERS

Pick up your print and digital textbook online orders in College West Room 148 (across from current Bookstore) two business days after placing your order. You will receive an email notification when they are ready after you place your order online. There is no charge for pickup orders. You can also have books delivered for a fee. To find out details and place your order go to ebookstore@uregina.ca.

WHEN IS THE TEXTBOOK BUYBACK?

The textbook buyback is in December only! Due to changes in the Winter 2019 term, there is no January textbook buyback. Buyback dates are December 13 & 14, and 17 to 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Find us at the bottom of the ramp outside the current Bookstore (CW138.)

Student FAQ:

Where will I get my textbooks as of November 5th?

Due to limited space, as of November 5th textbooks will be available through Online Ordering only. Orders will be available for pickup at no charge or delivery at a flat rate of $11.50/order (AB/SK/MB)

Will I still be able to sell back my used textbooks?

Student Textbook Buyback will take place December 13 & 14, 17 to 21, 9:00 to 4:00. The Buyback will take place in the same area as always, outside the current Bookstore, CW138, at the bottom of the ramp.

We have added earlier and more dates to the December buy. Unfortunately due to the changes for the winter term we will not be able to facilitate a buyback in January as we have in past years.

I Rented a textbook for the fall term, where can I check it in?

Rental textbooks can be checked in at any of three new locations. Per the fall term rental agreement all rentals must be checked in no later than Friday, December 21 at 4:30.

When can I access the Winter Term Booklist?

20 October 2018: Changes at the Bookstore

Changes are coming to the Bookstore this fall. The Bookstore will relocate as of October 31, 2018 to three new locations while the current area is renovated. The information and dates below will assist you in navigating this change.

In preparation for the move the Bookstore will be returning textbook overstock, which will include textbooks from the Fall 2018, this will limit quantities. Please consider purchasing your textbook, if required, to ensure availability.

The current Bookstore location will close as of October 31, 2018.

In-stock textbooks will be available in-store until October 31, 2018

The Bookstore and E-commerce site will be closed November 1 & 2 to finalize the move and update system hardware and software.

The New Bookstore locations and E-commerce will re-open on November 5, 2018

New Locations:

Bookstore: Supplies and Gifts - CW150 (formerly PC Place) 9:00 to 4:00, Monday to Friday.

Find supplies, gifts and U of R merchandise at this location.

Bookstore: Cougars and Rams - CK165.7 9:00 to 4:00, Monday to Friday

Find all your Cougar and Rams gear, clothing, water bottles, gifts, etc at this location.

Bookstore: Online Pickup and Main Office -CW148 8:15 to 4:30

FAQ:

Where will I get my textbooks as of November 5th?

Watch for updated information later in October regarding this process.

Will I still be able to sell back my used textbooks?

We have added earlier and more dates to the December buy. Unfortunately due to the changes for the winter term we will not be able to facilitate a buyback in January as we have in past years.

I Rented a textbook for the fall term, where can I check it in?

Rental textbooks can be checked in at any of three new locations. Per the fall term rental agreement all rentals must be checked in no later than Friday, December 21 at 4:30.

28 September 2018: University of Regina Central Testing Centre

Members of the University community,

As part of our ongoing commitment to student success, the University is embarking on the creation of a centralized examination facility. The facility, to be known as the University of Regina Central Testing Centre, will accommodate students who require it.

Last year, the Centre for Student Accessibility provided services for more than 1,000 students on campus - an increase of nearly 90 per cent over the past four years. With that in mind, planning for the creation of a centralized testing and accommodation facility was identified as a key academic priority.

Beginning in the coming weeks, the space currently occupied by the University Bookstore will be renovated to house the Central Testing Centre and the Bookstore. Consequently, there are plans underway to temporarily relocate Bookstore operations and sales.

Athletic wear will be sold in room 165.7 of the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport, the space in College West previously occupied by PC Place will be used to sell stationary and supplies, and the main office and textbook operations will be temporarily housed in the previous Chartwells Food Service office (across from the current bookstore location in College West).

Renovations will conclude next year, with the Central Testing Centre and Bookstore set to open in the fall of 2019. More information about the project will be shared with the campus community as it becomes available. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your patience as the project gets underway and the University works to better accommodate our students.
