tension between patricians and plebeians during the early stages of the
Republic?
- What led to the Secession of the Plebs in
494 BC? What were the results of this secession?
- What are the Twelve Tables? Why
are they important?
- What were the results of the

- Chart Roman expansion within Italy.
- What sorts of military innovations were
introduced after the sack of Rome by the Gauls?
- After the Latin Revolt of 340-338 BC the
Romans began to deal with conquered states, neighbouring peoples in a
variety of specific ways. Discuss the ways in which Rome
dealt with former enemies. Why was this such a turning
point in Roman history?
- Discuss the basic structure of the Roman
family. What were its constituent parts? Operative
principles?

his power, authority? How was this power limited?
- Compare marriage and divorce (reasons for,
