The James Webb Telescope’s hyperreal view of the universe has captured public attention. Its 18 hexagonal gold plated mirrors have revealed planets, nebulae, stars and galaxies like never before as Webb expands our view of the universe. This talk will explore the history of infrared astronomy, the design of this next generation space telescope and what we might hope to learn about the universe.
