Recruitment & Staffing for Hiring Managers
Recruitment and selection of staff is one of the most important core functions of hiring managers because of its substantial impact upon the people and services of the University. The Human Resources Department is offering three half-day information sessions (March 21, 22, & 23) for hiring managers and supervisors involved in staffing activities.
Key topics covered in the sessions will be:
- Understanding the University staffing systems and procedures
- The cost of getting it wrong
- The importance of the posting/advertisement
- Screening: a critical skill
- Preparation for the interview process
- Essential interviewing techniques to help identify the best candidate
- Reference checks
