Contact Office: Education Building ED436.8 Biography Dr. Lei Zhang is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Regina. She completed her PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Brunel University (UK) in 2012. Previous to her academic career, Dr. Zhang worked as a project leader for The TWI Ltd in the UK from 2006 to 2012, and as a senior hardware engineer for the Cambridge Technology Group in the UK in 2013. She is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists in Canada (APEGS), a registered Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the British Engineering Council, and a registered European Engineer (Eur ING) with the European Federation of National Engineering Associations. She is passionate about teaching, research and innovation, as well as philosophy, history and music. Research Interests Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Artificial Neural Networks, Spiking Neural Networks, Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Computing, Brain Stimulation, Hardware Acceleration, Field Programmable Gates Arrays, Non-destructive Testing, Ultrasound Testing, Pipeline inspection.
