A more detailed description of what this course entails will be posted as soon as possible.

In the meantime, you should be aware of the following:

The primary readings are:

Enns, Carolyn Z. (1997). Feminist Theories and Feminist Psychotherapies. New York, NY: Harrington Park Press. ISBN: 1-56023-873-9

Machiavelli, Niccolo (1531-32/1999). The Prince. Toronto: Penguin Classics. (Any recent reprinting of this book is acceptable, but this particular one has an interesting Introduction by Anthony Grafton.) ISBN: 0-12-044752

Rubin, Harriet (1997). The Princessa: Machiavelli for Women. Toronto: Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group. The ISBN for the hardcover edition is 0-385-47537-3, but there is also a softcover edition that would be less expensive.

There will be other readings as well.

The weighting of marks will be as follows:
discussions 20%
Major Paper I 40%
Major Paper II 40%

Due dates for the major papers will be worked out collaboratively. For one of these major papers you will interview two women therapists about their experiences and perceptions as female service providers; your written submission will be based on these interviews. The topic of the other major paper will be worked out collaboratively.

In order to facilitate discussion, in-person group meetings will be supplemented with the use of the WebCT tool.
