The Repeating Game

16mm/video, 2 minutes, 2007

This was created for the 30th anniversary of the Saskatchewan Filmpool and is included on a dvd distributed with an issue of their Splice Magazine that year. It screened at the huge anniversary party where the original members all came together for the first time in almost 25 years.

I made this 16mm film to reflect upon (repeating) a number of my own films from the past, in particular on the coffee machine used in "Life Is Like Lint" and the egg scene in "Crave". You can see me in a mirror shooting time laps, reflecting. The soundtrack, from which the title is primarily alluding, was created by me saying words and having my son William (then 5 years old) repeat them back to me into the microphone.
