The King Who Never Napped

super-8 film, 3 minutes, 2002 (IMAGES)

The root of my filmmaking remains the backyard skit/drama. After an absence of over two decades, this is my return to that tradition for this film which I made for the third annual "One Take Super 8 Event". As such, it is shot without editing and the soundtrack was edited without even seeing, let alone synchronizing, to the picture. My son William, at nine months old, plays the king with his cousins Nicole Saul, and Gabrielle and Chris Corvari as the support players.

Scipt/Storyboard (such as it was: planning is always important on the one take projects, so I always have some sort of organization of my order of shots).
