Good Planets Are Hard To Find

16mm film, 8 minutes, 1992 (ADDITIONAL IMAGES)

This was the pilot project conceived of by producer Terry Biddell, based upon her sister’s book of the same name. Terry wanted to hire experimental filmmakers to make short films about the environment. This was the only one made. It aired an Saskatchewan Communications Network, who funded it, as a time filler for a couple of years. As director in Regina, but with producer Biddell relocated to Saskatoon, there were many mishaps and delays. As deadlines approached, I worked with Margaret Bessai who took on the role of scientist/earth goddess in an improvised scene. Each video was also to feature a different local band whom we would bring into the studio and record with. This episode contains a song by Joel Fafard.
