My entry into the eighth annual One Take Super 8 Event was a sequel to the Professor Delusia the Nochturnalist series I'd created earlier in the year. The challenges of creating Melies-referencing special effects with a super-8 camera were considerable. William wore a coat and hat similar to the ones I wore in the role and performed acts of cinematic magic. I used pixilation, in-camera editing, and also attempted to use a one-way mirror and shifting lighting to make it appear that things could fly, disappear, or become ghosts. The success was admittedly limited. However, I did give my son, William, the interest in creating his own super-8 films in the future, which he did.
