The E-Business course is designed to transform students into responsible and professional Internet users. The beginning of the course is designed to introduce students to issues and tools pertaining to the Internet. Through a variety of activities and instruction students should be able function on the Internet safely and responsibly. By the end of the first unit students should start to analyze the Internet and it's use in business.
The second part of the course is an introduction to "Basic Business." Students need some basic business information in order to start thinking about a business that they would like to start up. Students are introduced to the idea of starting their own business. The business they choose may be fictitious or real. Students will benefit from basic business information as they start thinking about what kind of business they would like start. This portion of the course will continue to integrate the professionalism that is required in business.
The third part of the course is a section on the Business Plan. The Business Plan is an integral part of a business. Students learn an effective process for starting a business. Students will be expected to show that they understand and can participate in a business plan. Students will have an idea or a product at this point in which they will begin to market.
The last part of the course is putting all the planning and preparing into action. Students move from planning to doing in this section. Students will learn how to create a web site that will promote their idea, business, or product. This final unit is a chance to put together all of the material learned in previous sections. This unit ties together all of the units, therefor the units are most effective when taught in this sequence.
