Topic: E-mail
Content Identification: Students will learn about free e-mail and set up their own e-mail account.
Objective: After viewing specific sites students will be able to answer specific questions and create their own hotmail account.
Topic: Searching
Content Identification: Students will find a search engine other than the ones discussed in class and give directions one how to search effectively on that site.
Objective: After viewing specific sites students will be able answer specific questions and create a plan for searching a search engine.
Topic: Newsgroups
Content Identification: Students are expected to subscribe and submit something to a newsgroup.
Objective: Students will be able to search for answers to specific questions about newsgroups and operate in a newsgroup.
Topic: Buying Products
Content Identification: Students are expected to go through the process of buying some thing online. These transactions should then be canceled and no credit card use.
Objective: After viewing specific sites students will be able to answer given questions, buy online, and evaluate the process of buying online.
Basic Business
Topic: Do I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur?
Content Identification: Students will learn the qualities to be an entrepreneur.
Objective: Students will be able to complete a test related to a particular site. Students will be able to reflect after viewing the results from the test. Students will be able to create a program to deal with stress.
The Business Plan
Topic: Consumer Research
Content Identification: Researching a product, evaluating research results, and the value of nonprofit organizations.
Objective: Students will display knowledge of product research skills.
Web Design for Business
Topic: Web Monkey - Take a Tour
Content Identification: Introduction to the Web Monkey: The Web Developer's Resource. Students will take a tour
Objective: After completing The Webmonkey Tour, students will be able to identify what a Web Monkey is and identify the 7 different categories of information provided by this site.
Topic: Web Monkey - Know Your Code
Content Identification: The fundamentals of web design.
Objective: Students will read the content on lesson 1, page 4 and will be able to identify at least 5 major points and summarize the content of this page.
Rational
The LAP is designed in such a way that it can stand alone. However, the Learning Activity Package we created was designed for the course E-Business 30. Furthermore, the activities can be integrated into an entrpreneurship course or an information processing course. The activities are listed in the order that they should be taught. In most cases, the activity listed requires prerequisite learning from the previous activities.
