Tuition and Fee Amounts

At the University of Regina, the amount you pay in tuition and fees will be based on your faculty or program, your status in Canada, and the number of courses you take in a term. Here are the types of tuition and fees:

  • The Undergraduate Domestic Fee Schedule is for undergraduate students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents (landed immigrants) or protected persons (refugees).
  • The Undergraduate International Fee Schedule is for undergraduate students who require a Study Permit to study in Canada.
  • Graduate fee schedules depend on which program you are studying.

You can view your balance owing of your tuition and fees and make payments in your student account, UR Self-Service. Select “Student Services”, then “Student Records”, then “View Account or Make a Payment”. This page displays the details of the balance owing and provides the opportunity to make a payment towards your account.

You may also pay your student account by mailing in a payment to Financial Services by cheque or money order, in person by debit/cash/credit/cheque, by phone, or by wire transfer. Learn more about payment methods here.

Tuition and fees are due on the first day of classes, however there's a grace period before late charges apply. Check the current Academic Schedule for the 'end of penalty-free payment period' dates.

Jay Treaty Tuition Agreement

The University of Regina honours the Jay Treaty of 1794, and therefore grants students whose ancestral lands are within the United States the right to pay the same tuition and fee rates of Canadian citizens. In order to qualify for this, students must provide one of the following documents at the time of application, as specified by the American Indian Tribal membership protocols, which show that the applicant is at least 50% Indigenous:

  • A Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) Card
  • A written statement from an official of the tribe from which the student or their ancestors originate. Such a statement would be on the tribe’s official letterhead and should explicitly state what percentage American Indian blood the student or the student’s parents possess, based on official records.

Applicants will provide their documentation to International Enrolment Services.

North Dakota and Montana Tuition Agreement

The University of Regina grants students the right to pay the same tuition and fee rates of Canadian citizens if they are US citizens and have been residents of North Dakota or Montana for at least one full year prior to the time of admission. In order to qualify for this, students must provide one of the following documents at the time of application:

  • Montana or North Dakota Driver’s License
  • Montana or North Dakota Voter Registration
  • Student Authorization (Visa)
  • DD214 from the Department of Defense
