Private Music Lessons

It's Lesson Time! What You Need To Know

Payment Options

Want to spread out your payments over the year? No problem! 

Automated scheduled payment plans are available simply by registering online with a credit card and selecting the payment plan option when you check out.

Accompaniment
As a Conservatory private lesson student, you have access to accompaniment, up to 1 hour per recital. Need more time, you can add on extra hours at a reasonable rate. Contact Student Services for more information.
I just registered. When is my first lesson?
Allow one full calendar week from when you register to begin your lessons. The Conservatory and your instructor will be getting everything ready for you.
Can I make changes to my schedule or stop lessons after I start?
  • Yes, to both! If you and your instructor agree to changes like a new day, time or length for your lessons, simply let us know by emailing Student Services and cc your instructor.
  • You can cancel your lessons at any time with one month's written notice to Student Services and cc your instructor. You will be charged for four lessons (which you can still participate in) plus an administrative fee. See our Withdrawal Policy below. 
  • What if my instructor isn't the right fit?
    • No problem. Email us at Student Services and we'll help you find the right instructor.

Guidelines and Policies

What are the attendance policies?
  • Failure to attend a lesson does not constitute withdrawal.
  • No lessons may be attended before the student is enrolled and payment has been made.
  • Lessons or rehearsals missed by the student without notice will not be made up. Please give the instructor 24 hours notice if planning on missing a lesson.
Withdrawal Policy

If written cancellation using the withdrawl/transfer request form is received:

  • Prior to the end of the first month
    • Full refund minus the cost of the first month plus a $30 administration fee
  • After the first month
    • 30 day notice required
    • Future payments will be cancelled
Failure to attend a lesson does not constitute withdrawal.
Cancellations and Closures
The University of Regina reserves the right to cancel courses, camps, programs and lessons due to insufficient registration or other unforeseen events. If this occurs, participants will be given every opportunity to transfer into another course, camp, program or lesson or refunds will be issued. Decisions regarding withdrawal and/or refunds may be appealed to the Dean of the Centre for Continuing Education.
