I am currently an assistant professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Regina. Regina is a beautiful city in the province of Saskatchewan in Canada. Here are a few things about me. I got my B.Sc. (in mechanical engineering) from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran, my M.Sc. from Queen's University (Automatic Controls Lab.) in Kingston, Canada, and my Ph.D. from University of Toronto (CIMLab) in Toronto, Canada in 1989, 1995, and 1999, respectively. I also spent two years in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada as a PostDoctoral fellow.
Research Interests
Motion planning of co-operating robotic arms in dynamic environments.
Autonomous sensor-based motion planning of robots (mobile and articulated).
Time-optimal rendezvous planning of co-operating robots for pick-and-place task sharing.
Computer integrated manufacturing, inspection, assembly.
Robotic interception of moving objects.
Remote control/analysis via internet.
Urban search and rescue robotics.
